Tshibaka statement on Interior Secretary Deb Haaland’s visit to Alaska

Alaska Republican U.S. Senate candidate Kelly Tshibaka today issued the following statement regarding the visit from Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland this week: “Everyone should be clear on exactly why Deb Haaland has chosen this moment to visit Alaska: She’s been dispatched by President Joe Biden to try to provide cover for Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who has been the chief enabler of the Biden administration, which has targeted Alaska’s economy for destruction since his very first day in office. This is Biden taking care of one of his loyal soldiers – Lisa Murkowski – because her own record has placed her Senate seat in jeopardy. “Haaland’s visit should serve as a reminder that she would not be the Interior Secretary without Murkowski’s tie-breaking committee vote to advance her nomination to final confirmation. Haaland should spend her time in Alaska apologizing individually to all the people whose jobs she killed, and Murkowski should be forced to stand there and apologize as well. Instead, Haaland will boast about the so-called infrastructure bill, which is really just the Green New Deal by another name. “Alaskans won’t be fooled by a visit from a radical Biden cabinet official, because we know their true aim is to turn Alaska into a national park for the rest of the country. When I’m the next senator from Alaska, I will protect our energy industry jobs and always oppose radical leftist nominees who are a threat to our freedoms and prosperity.”
